I have also thought about a colour pallet to suit the emotional values of this painting, I have chosen to use black, light blue, yellow and red in my pallet. I have two ideas in regards to use of colour, firstly being the' house' is represented with 'happy' colours such as yellow and the other neighboring areas in darkness. Or the other depiction where the house is represented in darkness and the surrounding areas are bright and cheerful showed in colour. This idea shows the time when I visit the house through colour.
This piece of work is representational to me, This is a place where I have spent alot of time in previous years and It is a place where I found out a lot about myself and a another. This house can bring me feelings of sadness,guilt and shame but i can also say the house has brought me joy,comfort and security. The words running through the sketches are lyrics, these lyrics make perfect sense to how I feel towards returning to this place, this song has gave me hope therefore why i wanted to include them in my piece. My idea of the neighboring houses being filled with windows depicts my feeling of being watched by the outside world, leaving me vulnerable. This is piece represents mixed emotions.
