Screen Printing
In today's sessions we explored the methods of 'screen printing'. Firstly i made two designs to print these images had to fit together in terms of colour and space. In order to print these images I needed to prep my screen which included washing, drying and applying emulsion to the screen. Once the screen was fully dry I could place my images onto the prepped screen and leave in the dark room to transfer. After a half an hour wait my screen could then be placed into the screen printing machine where my images were fixed this took approximately 10 minutes. My prints were then ready to be transferred to my desired paper. To transfer i needed ink, a squeegee and paper. A squeegee was filled with ink and moved over the screen with the paper underneath the board. The squeegee forces and pumps the ink through the mess openings. I made several copy's of my images on different quality paper, these are my finished screen prints.
